Our Technology and Systems division is specialized in designing, building and managing audio-visual and conferencing systems, building automation and control, broadcast-communication, and digital content and learning systems.

Our Energy and infrastructure division is specialized in transmission, distribution of power production from renewable energy source including geothermal, biomass, solar and from exhaust heat recovered from industrial processes and power generation.

Our services are sought out by governmental, commercial and industrial sectors throughout Ethiopia. Increasingly seeking our services are NGOs and international organizations as well. Meet Our Team

Abdullahi Duri

Chief Executive Officer

Mr. Duri is a successful entrepreneur with an Electrical Engineering Degree-University of Surrey, UK and experience in IT and Software development, Media and Broadcast Systems, and Project Development and Delivery. He has worked for leading IT and Engineering companies in the UK including at Marconi Communications, Template Software and Level 8 Systems. Mr. Duri was part of the team in system design, delivery and rollout of a multi-country service delivery system for Colt Telecom, UK. He worked in the capacity of System Analyst & Designer, Database Developer, Systems Engineer and Project Engineer. in 2001, he moved to Ethiopia and as a Director of the largest indigenous Technology & Systems firm GCS he delivered complex national technology projects, including the first Value Added Tax (VAT) System in the country, national rollout of government IT infrastructure connecting over 600-points in the country. Subsequently he managed a family owned Timber & Wood products manufacturing factory in Ethiopia with over 250 workers, 75 machinery that manufactured and distributed its products with an anchor channel distributor with multiple outlets across the country. In 2013, he established his current company where he continues to deliver technology and power projects. In recent years he is striving to focus his company to be a leader in off-grid Renewable Energy product development, distribution and services with the ambition to improve the lives of rural communities in Ethiopia.

Hadia Kelifa

Director of Operations

Mrs. Kelifa is a co-founder and shareholder of Fortune Engineering Plc. Professionally, she is a marketing expert and holds qualifications on market management and Building Design Technology. Over the years she has developed experiences in sales and marketing initially working for one of the leading events and marketing firm in Ethiopia. Upon co-founding Fortune Engineering, she has led the company’s sales and marketing efforts, as well as program managed key company projects and contracts. Subsequently extensive experience was acquired by her in Human Resource & Admin functions, purchasing and logistics as well as accounting and finance. This naturally led for her to become the lead for overseeing the operational activities of the company as Director of Operations.

Atomsa Seboka

Head of Energy & Infrastructure

Mr. Seboka has a degree in Electrical Engineering with an extensive project execution experience of Medium & Low Voltage distribution lines including site survey, line designing, construction and commissioning both in towns as well as rural villages. He has worked at the national housing development projects as a client and a consultant. Mr. Seboka has worked as a Project Manager of Electrical lines and systems Installation for fifteen town electrification projects under the Universal Electric Access Program (UEAP) of the government of Ethiopia. Subsequently he worked as an Electrical Inspector at Gencon Engineering SC in Fincha Sugar Factory. Next, he has worked at the Oromia Housing Projects as the Head of Electrical Engineering Team in Robe town and Shashamane towns. At Fortune Engineering, he led the design and implementation of an energy metering pilot project deployed in 200 households in urban and peri-urban locations. He was also instrumental in preparation, submission and approval of the USD 2M working-capital loan Business Plan for Lantern and Solar Home Systems by the Development Bank of Ethiopia.

Tigist Negassa

Head of Accounts & Finance

Mrs. Negassa is a proficient financer with 12 years of experience in undertaking both general accounting as well as cost accounting activities. Prior to joining Fortune Engineering, she led a number of companies as a senior accountant, these include Sisay Tesfaye Agricultural Development, Aleta Land Coffee PLC and Ambo Farmers’ Cooperative. Currently, Mrs. Tigist is responsible in budgeting, cost control, project accounting and overall financial activities of the company.

Biniyam Kebede

Head of Technology Systems & Solutions

Mr. Kebede has a degree in Software Engineering where he has acquired extensive experience in designing, deployment and support of IT systems and solutions. He has executed small and large Audio-Video, indoor-power, Digital Discussion, voting and interpretation systems, project and control systems for large user-based conference system. In partnership with first-class manufacturers such as Honeywell, the Business Unit he leads has acquired large infrastructure projects to undertake the installation and support of CCTV, Access Control, Fire Alarm, Public Address Building Management Systems and MATV systems at the Bole International Airport Terminal expansion project. He has extensive experience as a Systems administrator, programmer, networking systems and is developing pilot project for trail of communication access technologies for deployment in rural communities.

Fireyihun Fikru

Business Development Officer

Mr. Fikru has a Double Masters in Micro-Finance from Université libre de Bruxelles, Brussels, Belgium and a Distinction in MSW in Social & Community Development. He achieves also a Distinction in his first degree in Cooperative (Business Management). He is a certificated Trainer in Social and Community Development. He has acquired rich experience in Micro-Finance starting off as a Credit Officer Intern in ASA Savings and Loans, Accra, Ghana. Subsequently he gained extensive experience as a Research, Development Lecturer at Haramaya University in Ethiopia where he Consulted policy makers regarding the microfinance institutes operations, served as executive member for Ethics and Anti-corruption of Haramaya University Offered various courses in the areas of management, marketing, cooperatives & research Engaged in community outreach and development targeting small business, cooperatives enterprises and self-help groups. Designed, developed and implemented business management, marketing, cooperatives and social work trainings He is currently responsible for planning and developing business concepts, conducting market research and identifying new markets as well as building long-term relationships with clients. Since joining Fortune Engineering, he has been developing markets in Solar, small Hydro and Bio-energy fields.

Esmail Ahmedin

Head of Procurement and Logistic

Mr. Ahmedin with his Degree in Sociology quickly progressed to his current role as Head of Procurement. He has gained solid experience working for an International Construction company undertaking massive road projects in Ethiopia. At Fortune Engineering, he is responsible for supervising the order and delivery of equipment and materials, supervising customs issue for importation, working with external suppliers and processing custom requirements for importation through linking with necessary government offices.

Meron Shebru

Head of Human Resources and Admin

Mrs. Shebru has a Degree in Sociology started her career at Techno-Mobile, the largest telecom handset manufacturer in Ethiopia where she acquired extensive experience in Personnel administration activities. Subsequently working in the hospitality sector, she acquired key skills in Human Resource Management. Presently, Mrs. Meron is responsible for the administration of the staffs, documentation and controlling all fixed assets of the organization. She is also developing skills development plans for all management and staff as part of the company’s strategy and commitment in in human capital development.
